Experienced Healthcare Assistant – 2o hours per week
Swavesey Surgery are looking to welcome an experienced Healthcare Assistant (Level 3) to work with our team.
Preferred working hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am – 1pm (with some flexibility).
We operate a SystmOne clinical system, serving a population of 3,600. Excellent QOF achievement and a CQC rating of Good across all domains. We have been rated in the top 10 in the GP patient survey for the past six years.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent relevant experience. Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post and experience within a primary care or healthcare setting.
Excellent patient facing communication and interpersonal skills, a consistently confidential manner as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
The ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities as well as working as part of a multi disciplinary team. Possess strong organisational and time management skills.
Working under the direct supervision of the Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
You will be able to apply your clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas such as :
- Phlebotomy, wound care, ECG checks, B12 and flu vaccines;
- New patient health checks;
- Re-stocking and stock rotation of equipment and vaccines
- Clearing and re-stocking of consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
- Providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families and carers
- Infection control and health and safety lead
