We’re here to help

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, how you contact us will be different at the moment. This is to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus. Your GP practice is open and if you need to see your GP, please ring us on 01954 230202. You can also call NHS 111. Please do not come to the surgery unless you have an appointment.  Appointments are being delivered face-to-face, online and over the telephone. If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery.

Clinics & Services

We offer a range of services. For an appointment or further details, please call Swavesey Surgery on (01954) 230202.

Our practice nurses offer a travel advice and immunisation service.  Please see the travel page for the questionnaire which you will need to complete and return to the surgery before booking a 20 minute appointment with the practice nurse.

Friday afternoons. This clinic is run by the midwives. During a routine ‘booking appointment’ the midwife will ask a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the local hospital, or both.

Child health and immunisation

All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from six weeks old. Anglia Support Partnership will send invitations when childhood immunisations are due and appointments for these may then be made with the practice nurse.

Family Planning

There is a limited family planning service run by our nursing team in conjunction with the G.P.s.

Diabetes / heart disease

Led by our nursing team, this service offers advice and general health check-ups to patients with the above conditions.

Cervical screening

Women who are aged between 24.5-65 years will be invited for regular screening. A double appointment should be made with the nurse. Exceptions are possible – please talk to a nurse or doctor if you have any concerns.

Asthma / COPD

Asthmatic patients or patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease can see our asthma nurse for advice and support.

Stopping smoking

Run by our practice nurses, this service offers advice and support to patients trying to give up smoking.

Other health care services

Primary care services not available at our practice are provided by NHS Cambridgeshire. Telephone (01223) 725400

Specialist and hospital care

If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, they will ask you where and when you would like to go. If you would prefer to have some time to think before deciding where and when to have treatment, you will be offered the option of calling the practice later.
